HEY PEOPLE.
I just had my first staycation in MBS
(whooohoooo! I've always wanted to try it)
A pity that I didn't spend much time there,
so I didn't fully utilize all their much-raved
facilities etc.etc. But NO MATTER.
A vacation, no matter how short, is always
a happy event to me ^^

Anyhow, it had such good lighting
that the camwhore in me was awakened.
HAHAHAHAHA. So uh..

Rio De Janeiro. Lovely, ain't it? I could stare at it the whole day.

It's been so long since I'm able to do these.

Wander around the house and do turns and jumps when I like.
Lie on the sofa without cares and listen to nothing at all.
Shower only in twilight.
Sit by the window, taking all the time to eat.
Watch the birds fly in their various formations, and the people with all their animations.
See the sun work magic in the sky.
Have the entire house quiet.
Observe the evening mist over houses and let the breeze cool my thoughts even further.
Appreciating God.

Can't imagine if I had a car (and license duhh).
Probably drive myself to some reservoir and have a hand at skipping stones.
Perhaps visit some museums and galleries?
How about driving onto a secluded grassland to read, fly a kite or play music there till night arrives?
Maybe sit by a body of water and have some philosophical moment,
or take a walk by a coast where little visit.

Does anyone else cherish the above?
I can only think of one whom I'm sure share the same sentiment.
I only wish there were more so we could chill out together.

These are the things that I really treasure.
Not the bustle of town, nor the aimless wandering in it sometimes.
It always saddens me not being able to enjoy these as much as I should.

I've been so stifled with tasks and duties that
having just an evening all to myself almost brings tears.
I just wish I could be granted much more of these quiet moments.

This week is pretty much like

but let’s look at the bright side.
ARPC with Marcus on Sunday morning was alright.
The P&W session and sermon were definitely too short, in my opinion.
They’re the first church I’ve attended to
have congregational prayer though, which was pretty nice.
It’s like the whole church’s got your back
(I guess only small-scaled ones can do this or the prayer will take forever).
I’d still have preferred to go NCC though.
When I’m back from Sri Lanka, I’ll be going.
ANYONE ELSE WANNA JOIN ME?
Simply Bread at Cluny Court is this pleasantly quaint eatery
where many angmohs (oohoohoo~~ ^^) frequent.

And I had a bruchetta, which I thought was pretty amazing,
though my initial impression was that of ‘plain’.

Mooncake festival celebration in church (at night) was quite a blast.

LIKE A CONCERT..

I had so much fun singing alongside the backup singers,
who are all at least twice my age.
So many received Christ that night.
It always moves me when I see people coming
up front with a faith they’ve never had.
And I’ve always wondered if I would be
one of those people had I not be born into a christian family.
I wonder about a lot of things I’d have done without Jesus.

ON THE DAY OF MOONCAKE FESTIVAL (12/7),
I met up with my 2 lovely dancers, Shermaine and Sophie,
and we had a great time discovering new hangout places.

We particularly adore Loof bar because of the music they play,
the ambience, and the different settings one can choose to laze in.
OHOHOH.
Sophie managed to order a gem- The Gummiberry (I think)-
which had meringue on it (Y)(Y)(Y)
Must try it if you go!

Needless to say, we missed the last bus.
But even though the clouds decided to hide the
full moon from us,
I loved the time with the girls.

Tuesday was my first day of work.
Thank the Lord that my colleague was a familiar face,
and so my first day of work wasn’t bad :D
Moreover, we had coursemates surprising us till,
at one point, it seemed like a mini DOPT gathering.
Then I went for my 2nd bout of mooncake festival
celebration with Cliff dearest,
who came down to rescue me from work hehehe <3
He’s so much more loving than me ): (: ^^

We played a failed version of Ninja,
tried to trace shapes with the smoke the sparklers
were giving out, and scarred the floor with colourful waxes of words.

A few wishes upon the last few dying candles,
1 paper lantern (which was eventually burnt),
2 special people,
5 boxes of candles and
6 boxes of sparklers.
I haven’t had so much to play with in a while.

Thursday was my first day of real dancing in... MONTHS.

And finally, Friday was the last day of a 3-day talk
and observation session at SNEC.
After which, Cliff and I chanced upon Axis bar
(after visiting one of our favourite furniture store),
which is this really sawesumzsx bar in Mandarin Oriental,
with live piano and singing by a black lady.

I’m so envious of the blacks.
They’re stellar in sports and singing.
THEIR SINGING is to die for.
Just listen to any acapellas.
Man, I wish I had half their talent... NO MATTER.

Now I’m here, stuck between packing and procrastination;
Procrastination obviously leading.
Nevertheless, I’m glad I went to gramps’ with my sis this afternoon.
I feel so unfilial sometimes.
I’d make a horrible wife/mother/grandmother/daughter-in-law.
I’m so uninvolved in kitchen ):
Though I must say my general cleaning and
toilet-washing skills are unbeatable HEH HEH.
I always marvel at how gramps can come up
with a scrumptious spread of dishes ALL THE TIME.

Finally, I’ll be flying off for Sri Lanka on Monday.

HELLOY'ALL.
The past week has been out of the box for Cliff and I.
But I loved every moment (:

Mid-week, we decided to go nature-y and visited Sembawang's
seaside park, competed on the swings (yeah he won..), admired
huge ships and observed some guy diving into a pillar with snorkelling gear
(wonder what's there) and got our asses burnt from downing buffalo wings.

Those are L5. Wasn't THAT hot, but enough to leave a sweat.

And the day ended with time together by a peaceful catchment...

until a group of youknowwhatkind came and killed serenity. boo.

Come the next day, we set off for a stayover at Ubin.
BOAT RIDES! ^^ ^^
Apart from the countless ravenous mosquitoes which aimed
primarily at me (41 in total! It's ludicrous. I'm totally aware),
I'd say Ubin with Cliff was really really lovely!

Since pictures speak a thousand words and is
more interesting than words (to most), I shall let them do the honour (:

This is but 1 fail 自拍.

Everyone thinks of 1 person where live stingrays are concerned. I think of how delicious it is when it's dead. Does anyone else thinks its edges look like black fungus? Moving black fungus~~

These are the medium and large sized dr fish (ahahahaha). I like how the big ones vacuum clean whateverbodypartofyoursunderwater. It's like FWOOMP FWOOMP cute. Pretty scary how they all swarm towards a newcomer.

These are the small fish. When they all feed on you (literally), it feels like many bubble jets aimed at your feet. For me to keep my feet underwater amidst all the ticklishness, I visualize myself in a jacuzzi. Yes it works. One thing's for sure though: They all like feet most.

Guess which's mine? ahahahahaha.

Initially, we wanted to go snorkelling.

But a few dead fishes and not-so-clear waters were a major deterrence,

so we decided against it.

Can't wait to do so in pristine waters <3<3

I'm still afraid of big fish though ):

Well at least I'll know what's coming rather than die

from shock when some fish suddenly emerges from the murk.

He reckons he's sexier than me just because his shorts are shorter than mine... TOUGH LUCK.

This was dinner: hot plate egg tofu, pineapple rice, diced beef with chilli and calamari wings (not to mention muruku and beer for supper ^^ ^^)

Food at the Hornbill restaurant wasn't bad.

The quiet and quaint atmosphere was good too.

Our initial plan to awake at 6am to cycle was a flop.

We woke up around 7 ahahahaha.

NEVERTHELESS,

we made it to Chek Jawa as planned, and still had some time to explore the place,

travelling to the south, east, north, and finally back west before

having to return the bikes. An accomplishment, I'd say! ^^

I don't know why I was smiling so widely. The journey to Chek Jawa was actually quite an arduous and tiring journey for an amateur cyclist like me. I could feel my legs overflowing with acid the way it was souring. But this goes to show: When the going gets tough, the tough gets walking.

No matter how long you may find it, READ AT LEAST ONCE.

A FATHER'S RULES FOR FINDING FULFILMENT

There is no such word.
Oogle probably came from the confusion with google.
It's 'ogle', with only ONE 'O'.

Unless, of course, you're talking about a poser or a scumbag...
which is useful, considering that the recipient probably wouldn't know what it means.
But even so, it doesn't even make it to the dictionary.
